First destination retail DFO joint venture at Perth Airport

Perth Airport is pleased to announce a joint venture with Vicinity Centres to develop and jointly own a Direct Factory Outlet (DFO) on the airport estate.

The DFO will be located on a nine hectare site in the Airport West Retail Park on Dunreath Drive, offering around 24,000m2 of lettable space.  The DFO will contain more than 110 tenancies, comprised of specialty outlets, predominantly fashion, together with a creative mix of food and beverage offerings.

Steve Holden, Executive General Manager Property, Perth Airport said, “The DFO marks the start of an exciting phase in the evolution of the airport, and Vicinity has a successful track record in operating DFOs”.

Vicinity’s Development Director – WA, SA and QLD, Stephen Beer said, “Vicinity is delighted to have entered into this joint venture with Perth Airport and to have the opportunity to create a world-class outlet centre for Perth residents and visitors.”

Work on the DFO site will commence in mid-2017 and the centre will open for trade in 2018, bringing benefits to the WA economy, including employment and further investment.

During the construction phase, 250+ jobs will be directly created and, indirectly, a further 450+ jobs.  Once operational, the DFO will support over 650 direct jobs and a further 400+ indirect jobs.   

The DFO will contribute more than $120 million per annum to the WA economy.
