Plants, pests and diseases can spread from one part of Australia to another through the movement of fruit, vegetables, plants, flowers, plant products, soil and honey.

Restrictions apply to each State and Territory for the movement of these products to protect Australia’s valuable plant industries from a range of pests and diseases, and to maintain access to valuable local and overseas markets.  These restrictions operate under State and Territory legislation.

All fruit, vegetables, flowers, plants, soil and seed must be placed in the Quarantine Amnesty Bins on arrival at the Perth Domestic Terminals.  On the spot fines apply if you do not declare items of quarantine concern.

WAQIS has Quarantine Detector Dogs at work at Perth Airport that are trained to search for items of quarantine concern.  If the dogs come near you, please place your bags on the floor to allow them to be inspected.
