Perth Airport welcomes State Government investment in key event infrastructure

Perth Airport has welcomed today’s announcement that Perth Convention Exhibition Centre will undergo a significant transformation which will increase the State’s event capacity and leverage on its amazing location along the Swan River to create a world-class precinct.

Perth Airport’s Chief Executive Officer Jason Waters said that the development will position our State as a world-class host for business and corporate events.

 

The investment for this substantial redevelopment of the venue which will increase capacity and increase the ability to attract major international events and conferences which will deliver long-term benefits from increased business and tourism activity.

 

“As well as the direct economic benefits of hosting events the investment in the precinct will encourage delegates and their families to explore what Perth has to offer and activate additional visitor spend in Western Australia.

 

“We look forward to working with Business Events Perth on bidding to secure major events in the future so we can showcase this significant development and grow our Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions sector in Western Australia.

 

“I congratulate the Cook Government and long-term lease holders Wyllie and Brookfield on this fantastic initiative which will deliver a key piece of international infrastructure that Western Australia can be proud of,” said Mr Waters.
