Skyfields by Perth Airport unlocks new opportunities for its property portfolio
24 July, 2025
Perth Airport’s Skyfields team continue to look for opportunities that will drive investment, create jobs and fuel economic growth in Western Australia through expanding its property portfolio.
Site preparation works on a new development has now commenced on an area that has excellent exposure to both Tonkin Highway and Dunreath Drive.
Perth Airport’s Chief Property Officer Dan Sweet said that Skyfields’ urban redevelopment maximises the benefit of the Federal and State government investments in the METRONET rail project, which has been a great win for the local and airport communities – it already provides a balanced mix of retail, food and beverage, and office spaces within walking distance of the public transport network.
“As our property portfolio continues to evolve and diversify, Skyfields is unlocking new opportunities to create vibrant places and elevate our precinct offerings for both current and future property partners,” said Mr Sweet.
As the new project gets underway, the Dunreath Drive Observation Deck will be fully closed to the public from 28 July until October 2025.
“This full closure will allow site preparation works to occur safely in the area.
“Following this initial closure, works will continue in the area Monday to Friday, allowing us to re-open access to Observation Deck on the weekends.
“We then expect to return to standard opening times in December 2025.
The project does not impact those heading to Terminals 3 and 4, Costco, DFO or Dunreath Village, as the main thoroughfare along Dunreath Drive remains open and fully accessible.
“We understand the Viewing Platform is popular with the community, and we have done our best to minimise the duration of that access road closure while balancing the need to ensure safety for our staff, contractors and the public during the works in the area,” said Mr Sweet.
The International Observation Deck at T1 remains open throughout the project.
