Perth Airport Expansion Progresses

The Airside package includes the construction of new taxiways and associated services to connect the New Runway to Airport Central, involving:

• Site clearance works
• Bulk earthworks
• Pavement works for Code F Taxiways
• Landscaping
• Drainage and services installations
• Aeronautical Ground Lighting and Visual Aid installations
• Instrument Landing Systems
• Structural works and building services
• Airside security infrastructure

Perth Airport CEO Jason Waters said that the appointment advances the construction of critical infrastructure, necessary to facilitate the economic growth of Western Australia.

“The new runway is the most important piece of aviation infrastructure being built in Western Australia as it will underpin the future operations of the airport by creating more capacity for our airline partners.

“The Airside contract provides the integral link to the new runway from the existing terminals and what will be Perth’s new consolidated terminal.

“We forecast that by 2046, we will be facilitating 30 million passengers, generating 75,400 jobs, and contributing $17billion to the State’s economy annually.

“The new runway and this associated infrastructure will provide further operational flexibility for our aviation sector and provide opportunities for our airline partners to grow their business at Perth Airport.

“Perth Airport is now well underway with the largest private investment in infrastructure in Perth’s history which will be completed within the next decade.

“This program includes the new parallel runway, new terminal facilities, two multi-storey carparks with associated roadworks and an upgrade of Terminal 2.

“This will deliver on the long-held vision for One Airport which will create a better travel experience for passengers, greater efficiency for airlines, and major economic benefits for Western Australia.”

Fulton Hogan General Manager for Airports and Defence and Bravo Link spokesperson, Michael Thompson said this contract award further strengthens the long‑standing relationship between Perth Airport and joint venture partners Fulton Hogan and West Coast Civil, creating a stronger partnership built on trust, shared experience and a proven track record of delivering complex airfield projects together.

“Perth Airport’s new runway is a once in a generation investment in Western Australia’s connectivity and growth, and confirming Bravo Link, as successful contractor for the airside works is a major milestone.

“The airside package is the engine room of the new runway program, from heavy civil works and pavement construction through to the airfield ground lighting that keeps aircraft moving safely and efficiently.
