Eating on the fly doesn't have to be boring - here's where to enjoy WA's fresh produce at T1 International
You’ll find Western Australia’s renowned - and absolutely delicious (nope, we're not biased one bit!) – produce all over the menus at T1 International.
Long Neck Public House, a fave airport bar hangout, has some great drops when it comes to the locally-made drinks department. There’s the award-winning Margaret River label Vasse Felix’s Sauvignon Blanc Semillon, or Shiraz lovers should try Forest Hill’s ‘The Broker’ from their Mount Barker vineyard. Pair these with a pre-flight pizza, which is always a top choice. You’ll be glad to know that the Long Neck pizza bases are handmade on site using flour made from WA grains and milled in Byford, 40km down the road.
Swing by The Crafty Swan Kitchen & Bar on the ground floor, where you can try their mouth-watering Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich, featuring chicken from Mt Barker Chicken (they let their chooks roam free as they please).
If you're simply after a pick-me-up coffee (we really can't get enough of it!), you must head next door to Juice & Bean Co to try the popular Northbridge Coffee Roasters' 'Rewind' blend, made to taste with (or without!) fresh Masters milk, which has been produced just 10km away at their Bentley manufacturing site for more than 50 years using fresh dairy milk from WA farmers.
6000 Acres celebrates the world-class produce of our abundant 6000 post code region by proudly showcasing long-standing favourite local artisans like Michael Brothers' Cold Pressed Juices, made with fruit and vegies from WA's most reputable growers, and award-winning Five Senses Coffee, a Perth favourite brew that doesn't disappoint. On the brekky menu, you'll find Hollandaise Eggs, featuring eggs sourced nearby in the Swan Valley, and a Turkish Breakfast served with fresh stoned baked artisan bread from Turkish Bakeries, a family-run bakery in Victoria Park.
Burger lovers head to Harvest Food Store to try their mouth-watering Harvey Beef Burger, jam packed with beef raised in WA’s pristine pasturelands, caramelised onion, spiced tomato relish and fresh salad. Another local pick here is the Crisp West Australian Pork Belly, sourced from Linley Valley Pork in the Great Southern Region, served alongside freshly made apple fennel slaw. Yum…!
Macchinetta has a range of sweet treats made by our favourite Italian patisserie, Dolcetto in North Perth. Pair one of their nutella or lemon curd doughnuts (slightly warmed please!) or tiramisus with a full-bodied MadFish Shiraz from Denmark and you’ll be the happiest little camper on your flight. If you've headed past the point of no reutrn (aka customs and security), then for your sweet fill head to Haymarket, where you can get your hands on rich chocolate cake and scrolls made by Mozart's Patisserie, home to some of Perth's best cakes.
Morning commuters can choose from Long Neck’s Tropical Smoothie Bowl, wholesomely packed with Coastal Crunch Lupin Granola that’s made with legendary West Aussie grown lupins (i.e. a super healthy legume that's high in protein and fibre, and low in carbs - YES!) grown in the Wheatbelt Region, or their flavourful Eggs Benedict, using fresh eggs from Golden Egg Farms who run seven farms across WA.
While Loco Poco, upstairs past security, might feel super Mediterranean, they sure know how to showcase WA’s best. Among their array of tapas style menu options, you'll also find some hearty hot plates. Get the Beef Cheeks and taste some of the best beef from the Great Southern Region’s pristine Stirling Ranges. Your amigos should order Margaret River’s melt-in-your-mouth Amelia Park Lamb Shanks, and then be sure to wash it all down with a ‘Flint Rock’ Shiraz by Howard Park Wines from… you guessed it, our favourite Margaret River wine region.
So next when you fly, take time to enjoy some of our Local & Loved flavours available at Perth Airport.
