Whether departing or arriving from the International Terminal, customers will enjoy a vastly different experience.

More than $165 million is being invested to enhance this terminal, with construction commencing shortly and due for completion in 2014.

The expansion of the International Terminal has been designed by Woods Bagot, leaders in airport design for the 21st century.

The design has taken into consideration rapidly changing technology and the need to ‘future proof’ these facilities by providing for next generation security screening and baggage technology.

Other features include:

  • an expanded check-in hall with 16 additional counters and new check-in and bag drop technology allowing passengers to move more efficiently through to an increased border and security screening area.
  • a refurbished and spacious departure area offering a far greater range of retail opportunities and an expanded duty free store allowing passengers to relax and shop before their flight
  • greater dining choice with new food and beverage outlets providing a variety of options.

Travellers will discover a high quality arrivals experience when returning to Perth or visiting our city. After disembarking on the first floor, a greatly improved and expanded duty free store awaits, along with a new passport control area, three times the size of the current one.

Travelling down the escalators passengers will arrive in the expanded baggage reclaim and quarantine inspection area, also nearly three times larger than the existing one.

Redevelopment at the front of the terminal completes the experience with dedicated pick-up and drop-off areas, and improved access to taxi and public transport.
